Many people choose vets by going through the list of convenience. Are they close? Are they cheap?  this is fine if your dog belongs to your kids who never take care of it.  But, if you love your dog and want the best care for it like I do, you will want to ask a few more questions, for example:
  • Is the staff friendly, polite, and professional?
  • What is your first impression of the clinic, is it tidy, and sanitary?
  • How many Vets work there, and will you be using the same one every time?
  • Are the Vets personable, and willing to take the time to explain procedures and options?
  • What are their hours, and what do they do in an emergency outside of regular hours?
  • Does their practice specialize in any field?
  • What services do they offer? (X-rays, Dental, Surgery, Laboratory tests)
  • Do they have a payment plan, and how flexible is it?
I know it sounds like alot but once you find the right veterinary practice you can rest assured that your dog will get the best care possible.
